Studie analyzuje vztah umění a moderního humanismu v Schellingové rané filosofii. Ukazuje, že podle mladého Schellinga úkolem umění bylo překonat metafyzickou osamělost a krizi moderního člověka, která byla způsobena plochým osvícenským pojetím moderního světa. Schelling vybudoval nový projekt poetické mytologie, která měla modernímu jednodimenzionálnímu světu navrátit jeho ztracenou vertikální dimenzi, obnovit jeho vnitřní jednotu, a tím znovu humanizovat.

The study deals with the analysis of the Schelling's metaphysical theory of art and its relation to the modern humanism. It proves that Schelling's mythological conception of art as a symbol of the metaphysical unity of the universe opens a new possible way to overcome one of the biggest issues of the Modern Age - its deep disunity and the gap between its horizontal and vertical dimensions. In Schelling's view art is an organ that enables to find again its final unity and and througtht new poetical mythology reveal its lost vertical sense and transcendental account.
