Tato studie je kritickým zamyšlením nad článkem Marka Váchy o etice eutanazie. V první části nabízí autor krátkou úvahu o důvodech nerozvinutého stavu etiky v české filosofii; poté přechází ve druhé části ke kritice Váchova článku. Jeho článek nabízí rétoriku, spíše než argumenty. Kromě toho prezentuje falešné dilema teistické etiky na jedné straně a totálního subjektivismu na straně druhé. Třetí části studie rozvíjí jednu z verzí objektivní sekulární etiky, založené na pojmu újmy, podle níž je určité jednání nemorální, pokud způsobuje druhým neobhajitelnou újmu. V poslední, čtvrté části, je tento systém využit k obraně eutanazie za asistence lékaře.

This study is a critical reflection on Marek Vácha's article on the ethics of euthanasia. In the first part the author offers a short consideration of the reasons for the moribund state of ethics in Czech philosophy, after which, in the second part, he presents a critique of Vácha's article. The article in question consists of rhetoric other than argument. Also, it offers a false dilemma between accepting theistic ethics on the one hand and total subjectivism on the other. The third part of the study develops one version of objective secular ethics, founded on the concept of harm, in which a course of action is deemed immoral when it causes unjustifiable harm to others. In the final, fourth part, this framework is applied in defence of physician-assisted euthanasia.
