Novel compact surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor capable of simultaneous detection of up to 10 analytes was reported in this work. The sensor is based on angular interrogation of SPR on a gold-coated diffraction grating contained in a disposable sensor cartridge.Parameters of the sensor were optimized to attain high-resolution while keeping its compact size. Sensor resolution was to be 6 x 10(-7) RIU in a model refractometric experiment. The limit of detection of short oligonucleotides was below 1 nM.
