In diesem Aufsatz wird die Trinitätssymbolik der Darstellung Gottes mit Zirkel und Waage erläutert, indem zwei Bedeutungsschichten zu unterscheiden sind: die protologische und jene eschatologische. Zugleich wird hier auf einige Übetragungsmöglichkeiten des Eadwig-Evangeliars - das erste bis heute aufbewahrte Beispiel mit dem Motiv - von den Inseln aufs Kontinent hingewiesen.

This paper is dealing with the Trinitarian symbolics of the presentation of God with compasses and scales in his hand. The author suggests the need to distinguish two levels of meaning hidden in this representation - the protological and eschatological one. At the same time there is pointed to some possibilities of the transfer of the Eadwig Gospel - the first konwn manuscript with this motif - from British Islands to the Continent.
