Emission of gases with greenhouse potential such as CO2, CH4 and N2O, and selected characteristics of soil microbial community were measured in copper contaminated soils under phytostabilization through the use of organic matter (OM) and Ca oxide (CaO) alone or in combination (CaO+OM), and planted with poplar or willow. Overall, results indicate that soil amendments generally used to aid phytostabilization of soils may influence the greenhouse gas emission rates and microbial community characteristics of the treated soils.
