Within the framework of the preparation of the Landscape Atlas of the Czech Republic, a new synoptic general geomorphological map of Czech Republic was developed on a scale of 1:500 000 by team of the Czech geomorphologists. . In agreement with recent trends in general geomorphology and geomorphological mapping and in relation to the final map scale l: 500,000, the basic mapped units are (meso) landforms classified along their appearance (shape-mainly slope inclination and elevation), genesis and age.
