Kritická edice Spisu F. J. Rottmanna Rituale nupturientium z roku 1715 je raným pokusem o etnografické srovnávací studium kulturního fenoménu svatby. Excerpcí na svou dobu úctyhodné řady literatury a pramenů shromáždil autor údaje o právních zvyklostech, obřadech a průběhu svateb u více jak sedmi desítek etnik a náboženských figurací na čtyřech kontinentech. V duchu osvícenského chápání představuje dílo encyklopedické shrnutí poznatků, i když bylo koncipováno jako četba zábavná. Český překlad odlehčila autorka o duplicitní latinské citáty a obšírné právnické rozklady. Zájemcům o tento typ textů je určena kompletní kopie originálu v příloze. Edice je doplněna o úvodní studii J. Petráňové, ediční poznámky a mapovou přílohu, zobrazující geografický horizont autora F. J. Rottmanna.

The critical edition Rituale nupturientium by F. J. Rottmann from 1715 writing is an early example of an ethnographic comparative study based on the cultural phenomenon of weddings. The author collected information on judicial customs, rites and wedding ceremonies within more than seventy different ethnics and religious denominations on four continents using notes from a then spectacular number of texts and other sources. Although its form – an encyclopedic collection of the knowledge – represents a typical product of the Enlightenment, in fact it was conceived as a reading for leisure. The czech translation of the writing has been simplified by omitting the twofold quotations in Latin and the extensive legal analyses. Those who are interested in this kind of texts could find a copy of the original edition attached. The new edition of Rituale nupturientium has been enhanced with an introductory study, editor´s note as well as a map which shows the geographical horizon of the author.
