La naissance de la Tchécoslovaque a-t-elle recouvert d´une manière très dynamique dans la conscience historique et le subconsicient tchèques la mémoire générale de la guerre. Le jour de la naissance de la République, le 28 octobre 1918, a été, avec l´anniversaire de la bataille de Zborov du 2 juillet, la fête nationale la plus importante de la Première République. Exprimé de façon imagée, le 28 octobre a parfaitement effacé le 11 november (sans parler de la mémoire du 4 novembre, date de la capitulation de l´Autriche-Hongrie), qui a été ailleurs si intensivement perçu: qu´il s´agisse du Victory Day, de la Journée de la Victoire ou, dans le cas allemand, d´une journée qui a signifié trahison et honte.

The creating of the Czechoslovakia has overlaped general memory of the Great War at the Czech historical memory. The 28th October, the day of the origin of the Czechoslovakia was (together wirt the anniversary of the Battle of Zborov 2nd June) the most important holiday of the Republic. In other words, the 28th October has perfectly overlaped the 11th November (and also the 4th October, the day of the Austro-Hungary capitulation), which is in other countries very intensively percieved: as a Victory Day (France, Great Britain), or as a day of a national shame (Germany).
