Na lokalitě Ahníkov (miocén Mostecké pánve, ČR) byly nalezeny dutiny v mechanicky rozpadlých částech fosilních krunýřů suchozemských želv. Na základě recentních analogií předpokládáme, že vrtby mohou být stopami larev osteofágního hmyzu.

The locality Ahníkov (Miocene of the Most Basin) yielded trace fossils in the form of hollows bored in bones of carapaces of terrestrial turtles. Their casts show an irregular to quite regular, tongue-lie shape with more robust margins, smooth (except the xenoglyph). These are distinguished from the already described ichnofossil. We presume that they represent traces of insect larvae, and that they combined feeding and dwelling functions.
