    AnotaceAnalyzing the survey „Social distance 2007“ the article investigates the question, if in the Czech society the like-me principle or the prestige effect best explains the Subjective Social Distance in the stratification system. Using OLS-regressions it was shown, that in all 5 EGP classes the prestige effect is prevailing. However, comparing the regression slopes in the different classes a weak like-me effect was also detected.
