    AnotaceThis chapter gives an overview of how the most important driving forces, different natural and cultural features merged in resulting design, management and city planning of České Budějovice. The greenstructure historical roles are summarised to stress the practical aspects of green structures during a city development. To introduce modern achievements and instruments aplied in the CR, the system of landscape stability (TSELES), GIS and Master Plan procedure are pointed out as good examples for European practice.
