Molecular mass distributions of silicone oil samples were determined by supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC), matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI- TOF MS) and their off-line combination. SFC with micropacked capillary columns was used to separate a silicone oil sample into several fractions. These fractions were sprayed from an SFC chromatographic column directly on a MALDI target by using the developed sample deposition device. The sample deposition device is based on a common plotter unit, complemented by a microcontroller PICI6C84. The unit is connected by an RS-232 interface to a PC with the main control software running under MS Windows. The new sample deposition device made the off-line combination SFC-MALDI simpler, faster and more sensitive. Based on MALDI- TOF analysis of the fractions polymer size distribution of the sample was calculated
