Anhand einer ausführlichen Analyse der Text-Bild-Beziehung wird gezeigt, dass diese Handschriften zum Ziel hatten, den universalen Machtanspruch Wenzels IV. als einem von Gott erwählten König / Kaiser zum Vorschein zu bringen. Diese Hypothese wird näher erläutert anhand zwei Beispiele – Karl des Großen und Friedrich von Hohenstaufen, in deren Dienste zahlreiche Gelehrte und Astrologe arbeiteten, um die Macht des Kaisers universal zu legitimieren. Překlad anotace In the paper the aspects of „Herrschaftsstil” of Wenceslas IV are studied with special regard to the sumptously illuminated astronomical manuscripts. It focuses on the presumption if commissioning of manuscripts, in which personal emblems become part of the illustrated astronomical schemes, can be viewed as a part of royal representation. The arguments provided are based on a comparison with other medieval monarchs – active commissioners of manuscripts with astronomical content.
