The unique lead amulet found in 2014 found in the Czech Republic region is classified to the 11th-13th century. It has dimensions of 43 x 34 x 8 mm and its weight is 40 g. It can be observed that the thin lead sheet is folded very tightly into 8 layers and the individual layers are destroyed by corrosion or coated with corrosion products in a different extent. After the unfolding the sheet should have dimensions of about 120 mm x 80 mm. Microscopic images of the exposed layer confirmed that the text was engraved with a thin sharp tip which formed scratches with a width up to 0.3 mm and a depth of about 0.1 mm. Raman spectroscopy performed in 2015 on the Technical University of Ostrava confirmed 90% lead content, which oxides caused considerable surface corrosion.
