Studie ukazuje, jak starší historický a literárně historický výzkum o renesančním humanismu v českých zemích souvisel s dobovými politikami českého národního společenství. Autorka nejprve analyzuje představy o vernakulární humanistické literatuře z doby kolem roku 1800 a Jungmannův narativ dějin českého jazyka a literatury. Následně se soustředí na odborné diskuse z konce 19. století, v nichž byly latinské humanistická učenost a literatury reprezentovány jako specifická forma kulturního transferu.

This article points out the way older historical and literary research into Renaissance humanism was associated with the current politics of the Czech national community. The author analyses this issue based on the example of historical imaginings associated with vernacular humanistic literature after 1800 and within the framework of Jungmann's narrative on the history of the Czech language and literature. She also focuses on scholarly discussions from the end of the 19th century, in which Latin humanist scholarship and literature were represented as a unique form of cultural transfer.
