Mesoporous molecular sieves of various chemical composition, structural types, and dimensionality of their channels are interesting ordered materials with a high potential in adsorption but particularly in catalysis. This review covers various aspects of the catalytic behavior of mesoporous molecular sieves, in which these mesoporous molecular sieves operate both as catalysts or as catalyst supports for highly active oxidic or organometallic species. In the first part, examples of catalytic mesoporous molecular sieves are focused on single heteroatoms located in siliceous matrix as active sites for acid-catalyzed reactions, oxidation with hydrogen peroxide by Baeyer-Villiger reaction, Meerwein-Ponndorf-Verley reduction, esterification, and etherification. The second part describes catalytic systems based on mesoporous silica or alumina supports modified with transition metal oxides for hydrodesulfurization (MoO3) and metathesis of olefins and unsaturated esters (MoO3 or Re2O7).

Kapitola v knize se zabývá studiem katalýzy na mezopoézních molekulových sítech.
