The article provides a strong theoretical basis for a study of Czech emigration to the West and the return of the emigrants in the 1990s, which spreads from P. Berger´s and T. Luckmann´s theory of socialization, and compares it with a point of view of socio-economics, seen as the most useful research method of this particular field. The author attempts to explain why the emigrants decide to return, including the consequence of their prosperity abroad and their attitudes to modern capitalism. He also analyzes the process of their (re)integration into the Czech society.
