Kniha mapuje směry a možnosti studia barokních krajin a současně spektrum využitelných pramenu (text - obraz - mapa - terénní výzkum), jejich interpretační potenciál z hlediska historické geografie i kulturních dějin. Koncepce knihy, jejíž jednotlivé kapitoly kombinuji mikro- a makropohled (sondy a jejich obecné interpretace),vychází z širšího rámce studia barokních krajin v Čechách (cca 1650-1800), nastíněného v úvodní stati.

The book summarizes main directions and possibilities of studying baroque landscapes and at the same time the spectrum of usable sources (text - image - map - field research), their interpretation potential from the point of view of historical geography and cultural history. The concept of the book, whose individual chapters combine micro- and macro-views (case studies and their general interpretation), is based on the broader framework of the study of baroque landscapes in Bohemia (approx. 1650-1800), outlined in the introductory chapter.
