Kolorovaná perokresba s námětem Město Labyrint je součástí rukopisu Komenského Labirynt Swěta a Lusthauz Srdce, datovaného 1623. Rámcovým východiskem zobrazení je panoramatická krajina nazíraná z ptačí perspektivy (Weltlandschaft), v detailu kreslíř reaguje na moralizující žánr, který byl pěstován zejména v Nizozemí. Dystopická struktura přelidněného města je po vzoru Brueghelovy Babylonské věže podobenstvím převráceného světa a lidské společnosti.

A colored drawing of the City of Labyrinth is a part of the manuscript of Comenius’ Labyrinth of the World and Paradise of the Heart from 1623. Its comoposition is grounded on a panoramic landscape seen from an elevated viewpoint (Weltlandschaft), in detail the draughtsman responds to the moralizing genre, which was also developed in the Netherlands. Following the example of Brueghel’s Tower of Babel and similar depictions, the dystopic structure of the overcrowded city is a parable of the inverted world and human society.
