Kapitola analyzuje podoby narativu o českých dějinách v 15. století, jak se dochoval v adaptacích kronik vytvořených ve 14. století a v historiografických dílech sepsaných v 15. století. Analýza se soustředí především na protichůdné adaptace kronik tzv. Dalimila a Přibíka Pulkavy z Radenína. Ve srovnání byl první z nich užíván jako nacionálně konfliktní, zatímco druhý spíš společensky neutrální. Studie sleduje též formální změnu narativu, v němž postupně mizel starozákonní rámec vyprávění a posunoval se k humanistické zemské kronice.

The chapter analyses forms of the narrative of Czech history in the 15th century as it is preserved in adaptations of those chronicles written in the 14th century and in those created in the 15th century. The analysis focuses primarily of contradictory reception of the chronicles by so-called Dalimil and by Přibík Pulkava of Radenín. In the comparison, the former was used as nationaly quarrelsome, while the latter as socialy neutral. The study also inquires the transformation of the structure of the narative. The framework of Old Testament stories faded away and the narrative was changing into the humanistic form of the land chronicle.
