Im Bezug auf das Konzept des Ausnahmezustandes des deutschen Juristen Carl Schmitt, das der italienische Philosoph Giorgio Agamben weiterentwickelt hat, konzentriert sich der Artikel auf das Motiv der „Armen Polen, die auf das Ghetto schauen“ (Jan Blonski). Die Studie analysiert die Erzählung „Karwoche“ (Wielki Tydzien) als einen Ausdruck des schlechten Gewissens der polnischen Katholiken, die mit dem Warschauer Ghettoaufstand konfrontiert sind.

In reference to the concept of the state of exception (Ausnahmezustand) in the legal theory of the German jurist Carl Schmitt, which was further developed by the Italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben, the article focuses on the motive of the „poor Poles looking at the ghetto“ (Jan Blonski) in Warsaw. The study presents the novel Holy Week (Wielki Tydzien), written by Jerzy Andrzejewski in 1943, as an expression of guilty conscience of Polish Catholics, confronted with the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
