It is well known that the non-destructive X-ray CT investigation on cultural heritage artifacts is advantageous for a number of reasons - documentation of the inner structure, preparation for restoration, dating, investigation of the manufacturing technology used, etc. Such kind of study is made rather rarely as CT scanners are not commonly available in museums and galleries. Common practice is that only carefully selected artifacts are transported to the workplace equipped with CT machine. Transportation is highly demanding from point of view of security, humidity and temperature conditions etc. Therefore mobile device with several X-ray modalities was developed to have possibility inspect valuable artifacts on-site in the museum/gallery. Moreover, machine concept brings possibility to investigate relatively large collections of similar object as ancient cuneiform tablets for instance. The mobile device is equiped not only with CT scanner but also with XRF imaging camera. XRF camera is mounted together with three axis positioning system on the goniometer - CT stage is installed inside of the goniometer aperture. This solution allows not only fusion of the CT and XRF data but also K-edge imaging and imaging utiliziing back scattered X-ray photons.
