Zentrale Themen der Konferenz waren: 1. ökologisch relevante phänomenologische Bestimmung von Mensch und Umwelt, 2. phänomenologische Kritik an (der Genese von) wissenschaftlichen Umweltkonzepten, 3. phänomenologische Grundlegung interdisziplinärer Umweltforschung, 4. interkulturelle Erforschung von kulturspezifischen Welt- und Umweltkonzepten vor dem Hintergrund kosmologischer Vorstellungen.

Central topics of this conference were: (1) phenomenological analyses of human being and environment from an ecological perspective, (2) phenomenological criticism of scientific conceptions of environment and their genesis, (3) phenomenological foundation of an interdisciplinary research on environment, (4) intercultural research of conceptions of world and environment in specific cultures against the background of cosmological ideas.
