Jaromír Spal před 42 lety ukázal, že existují určité sémantické třídy sloves, u nichž lze objektový infinitiv transformovat na vedlejší větu. Ve své studii jsem se pokusil demonstrovat, jak nás korpusový výzkum může zásobit objektivními statistickými fakty týkajícími se tohoto druhu syntaktické konkurence. Proti 18 výskytům konstrukce s infinitivem Snažím se nedělat je doložen jediný výskyt konkurenční konstrukce s vedlejší větou: Snažím se, abych nedělal.

Jaromír Spal, 42 years ago, has argued that there are some semantic categories of verbs in Czech which allow for the substitution of an infinitive complement with a complement clause. In this study I have tried to demonstrate how corpus research can supply us with objective statistical facts on this kind of syntactical concurrence. There are, for instance, 18 occurrences of Snažím se nedělat (I try not to do) but only one occurrence of Snažím se, abych nedělal (I try that I do not do).
