Starší česká díla se v oddělení vývoje jazyka Ústavu pro jazyk český Akademie věd ČR přepisují pomocí počítače od počátku 90. let 20. století. Nejprve byly texty zveřejňovány v diachronní části Českého národního korpusu (http://www.korpus.cz), posléze i na stránkách projektu Manuscriptorium (http://www.manuscriptorium.com). Od roku 2006 využívá oddělení k prezentaci elektronických textů zvláště vlastních stránek Vokabulář webový, webové hnízdo pramenů k poznání historické češtiny (http://vokabular.ujc.cas.cz), kde jsou texty mj. zařazeny do edičního modulu a do korpusu. Kromě toho oddělení publikuje elektronické texty ve spolupráci s Nakladatelstvím Academia jako e-knihy v ediční řadě Starší česká literatura (http://eknihy.academia.cz/starsi-ceska-literatura-1.html).
Jednotnost přípravy elektronických edic je zaručena propracovanou koncepcí a používáním speciálně vytvořených softwarových pomůcek, jimiž je zejména šablona do editoru Microsoft Word. V elektronické edici je nutné zaznamenat veškeré rysy rukopisu či starého tisku, které mají vliv na odbornou, zvláště lingvistickou interpretaci textu. Jsou to především informace o struktuře textu (signalizace stránek, veršů, nadpisů, přípisků, incipitů, explicitů atp.) a informace o zvláštnostech textu a zásazích editora do textu (signalizace textu cizojazyčného, doplněného editorem, rekonstruovaného nebo torzovitého a signalizace veškerých oprav textu – emendací). Vnášení informací se děje pomocí odstavcových a znakových stylů šablony k editoru Word, které se při exportu do konkrétních výstupů změní např. na graficky zvýrazněný text, na poznámky pod čarou či na tzv. bublinkovou nápovědu.

Older Czech works have been written-over in the computerized mode in the language development department of The Czech Language Institute of the CAS since the beginning of the nineties of the 20th century. To start with, texts were published in the diachronic part of the Czech national corpus (http://www.korpus.cz), then, they were even published on the websites of the project Manuscriptorium (http://www.manuscriptorium.com). Since 2006, the department has utilized for the presentation of electronic texts primarily its own website Vokabulář webový, webové hnízdo pramenů k poznání historické češtiny (http://vokabular.ujc.cas.cz), where the texts are, among others, arranged into an edition module and into a corpus. Besides that, the department publishes electronic texts in collaboration with Nakladatelství Academia in the form of e-books in the edition line Starší česká literatura (http://eknihy.academia.cz/starsi-ceska-literatura-1.html).
The uniformity of the electronic editions preparation is ensured by its elaborated conception and utilizing specifically designed software tools, such as, most importantly, the Microsoft Word template. In the electronic edition, it is necessary to record all features of the manuscripts or old prints that influence the expert, especially linguistic, text interpretation. Primarily these features are, first, the information about the text structure (such as signaling pages, verses, titles, added texts, incipits, explicits, etc.) and, second, the information about the text peculiarity and editor´s text amendments (signaling the text that is bilingual, amended by the editor, reconstructed or fragmentary, and signaling all text amendments – emendations). The information importation is facilitated by the Word editor paragraph and character style templates that, on the exportation to specific outputs, change e.g. to a graphically highlighted text, footnotes, or a tooltip.
