Štúdia sa zaoberá motívom Stvoriteľa sveta s kružidlom a váhami v ruke a to na príklade dvoch anglosaských iluminácií z doby krátko pred normandskou inváziou v roku 1066. Obe vyobrazenia naznačujú úzku previazanosť témy stvorenia a vykúpenia. Stvoriteľ tu vytupuje súčasne i ako Spasiteľ, skrze ktorého je obnovená harmónia univerza. Hlavným argumentom je interpretácia sv. Augustína, že človek je schopná existovať a teda i vnímať len v dimeziách času a priestoru, ktoré boli stvorené na samom počiatku. Spojenie dejin sásy s dimenziou času vyjadruje práve zobrazenie Boha v podobe kristomorfnej hlavy vo vrchole kruhovej kompozície, ktorá vychádza z kompozície v tej dobe veľmi rozšírených slnečných hodín (horológií).

The paper focuses on the motif of God Creator of the world holding a pair of compasses and scales. It involves two Anglo-Saxon manuscripts produced just shortly before the Norman Conquest in 1066. In the Tiberius as well as the Bury Psalter, is the motif joined with the circle diagram with the head of the Creator at the top. Both drawings are as thematically as contextually connected with the topic of time measuring and with sundials, instruments urged for this measurement. According to this connection I suggest it is the act of creation of the world associated with the beginning of the Heilsgeschichte which is implied in the composition. The point of my interpretation inheres to St Augustine´s of Hipo commentary where he stresses human limits in the perception of the created universe within time and space. Therefore, the very moment of creating the time dimension enables the virtual space for unreeling of the salvation history (Heilsgeschichte). Following this context, the motif of God the Creator is to be interpreted as the only God the Creator and the Saviour.
