Kapitola sleduje roli andělských entit v díle J. A. Komenského. Zachycuje způsob, jakým Komenský v této souvislosti reaguje na starší scholastickou a renesanční tradici a jak se s obrazem a povahou anděla vyrovnává jako s jedním ze sporných témat poreformačních církví. Komenský svým Světem andělským i uspořádáním světa v Centrum securitatis navazuje jak na angelologii Dionýsia Aeropagity, tak na Marsilia Ficina. Nicméně již v průběhu svých studií, jak dokládá jeho disertace, i ve Physicae synopsis reagoval na oddíl věnovaný andělům v Summě teologické. Článek také otevírá otázku, jakým způsobem Komenského Svět andělský ovlivnil Heinrich Alsted a celá ramistická škola především skrze organizaci vědění pomocí binárního stromu. Dále je sledována jistá divergence mezi 'filosoficko-teologickým' názorem na anděly a mezi 'prakticko-teologickým' postojem. Tak Komenský především v Labyrintu jednak zdůrazňuje roli anděla strážného či anděla ochraňujícího lože umírajícího, jednak vyjadřuje důvěru v andělská zjevení.

This chapter follows the role of angelic entities in the work of J. A. Comenius. It focuses on the way in which Comenius reacts to earlier scholastic and Renaissance tradition concerning angels and how he deals with the image and nature of the angel as one of the contentious themes of the post-Reformation Churches. Through his work Mundus angelicus and his ordering of the world in Centrum securitatis Comenius is linked to the angelology both of Dionysius the Areopagite and of Marsilio Ficino. Nevertheles, already in the course of his studies, as both his dissertation and his Physicae synopsis testify, he reacts to the section devoted to angels in the Summa Theologica. The chapter also asks in what way Comenius' Mundus angelicus was influenced by Heinrich Alsted and the whole Ramist school, above all through the organisation of knowledge with the help of the binary tree. It then follows a particular divergence between the philosophical-theological opinion on angels and the practical-theological attitude. Thus Comenius in the Labyrinth above all, emphasises the role of the guardian angel and the angel guarding the deathbed, and also expresses confidence in the angelic revelation.
