The paper reports algorithmic refinements and numerical experiments of a novel explicit time integration algorithm in finite element computations of elasto-plastic wave propagation phenomena, occurring in shock and impact-contact loadings in solids. Small and finite elasto-plastic rate-independent deformation theories are utilized.
