Monografie Soukromé jazyky diskutuje širší filosofické i mimofilosofické souvislosti Wittgensteinova argumentu proti soukromému jazyku. Ukazuje, že obecné vyznění argumentu – v kanonické "normativistické" interpretaci Bakera a Hackera – oslabuje fakt, že existuje řada jazykových fenoménů/kontextů, které strukturně Wittgensteinův příklad připomínají. Pro analytickou filosofii jazyka se zohledněním výsledků empirických věd (zvláště lingvistiky) otevírá možnost znovupromyslet některé klasické argumenty s přihlédnutím k tomu, že jazyku jako každé lidské instituci je vlastní určitá míra partikularity, a k roli, kterou sehrávají lokální sémantické kontexty.

The monograph Soukromé jazyky discusses broader philosophical and extra-philosophical implications of Wittgenstein's private language argument. It demonstrates that the general moral of the argument – in the canonical, "normativist" interpretation of Baker and Hacker – is questioned by the fact that there are a number of linguistic phenomena the structure of which resembles Wittgenstein's example. If the analytical philosophy of language reflects some findings of empirical sciences (linguistics in particular), it will get an opportunity to rethink some classical arguments with respect to certain particularity inherent to language (as to any human institution) and to the role played by local semantic contexts.
