We report a novel approach to biomolecular interaction analysis which allows real-time monitoring of interactions in complex media. The investi¬gated complex sample (e.g. blood plasma) and a washing solution are al¬ternately injected in the flow-chamber of a surface plasmon resonance biosensor. Immediate switching between these liquids and removal of non-specifi¬cally adsorbed material on a chip surface allows assessing the actual level of bound analyte in the course of the binding.
