This paper demonstrates application of short open tubular ion-exchange precolumns for in-line clean-up of biological samples prior to CE analysis of inorganic cations. The precolumns are easy to prepare and cheap and can be used as single use precolumns, which efficiently remove interferring matrix components from two major biological samples (serum, plasma).
