Autor zkoumá problematiku textu na pozadí pojmů diskurzu a genderu. Táže se, zda a jak lze prostřednictvím určité praxe psaní vyvést vypovídání vně domény diskurzu, již Derrida coby obecný rys naší kultury pojmenoval jako falogocentrismus. Pro typ textové praxe lokalizující se vně falogocentrismu volí Matonoha, zčásti polemicky a kontraintuitivně, výraz „ženské psaní“, jehož možnosti a limity v práci rozpracovává. „Ženské psaní“, pokoušející se vůči falogocentrické logice vymezit, je však vzhledem k hegemonní povaze falogocentrismu postaveno do aporetické situace: jak se skrze psaní vymanit ze struktury, která sama tuto možnost psaní zakládá. Na takový stav „ženské psaní“ reaguje nikoli únikem z jazyka, ale naopak textovou, strategicky inscenovanou praxí selhání, zdvojení a odkladu. Psaní se v této podobě stává dějící se stopou, procesuálním zápisem diskurzivního zápasu. Tento pohyb textu Matonoha sleduje v rukopisu M. Součkové, V. Linhartové, S. Richterové, D. Hodrové a B. Hrabala.

The author aims to examine the nature of the relationship between a textual politics here referred to as a “women’s writing”, and the dominant discursive practice of our culture, whose logic and functioning can be best encapsulated in the Derridean term of “phallogocentrism”. The “women’s writing”, then, is here defined as a writing which locates itself outside the domain of the phallogocentric discourse, trying to challenge and undermine its hegemonic status. Through its textual strategies, the “women’s writing” reflects upon the fact that we all are inevitably “inserted” in language. Therefore, rather than striving to free itself of the – inevitable – discursive formation and constrains, it highlights the formative role of language by means of the ironic, palimpsest-like re-writing of conventional literary narratives, as well as by means of textual politics defined by a constant displacement of meaning.
