Aufgrund einer Untersuchung der Kollektion der spätmittelalterlichen adeligen Testamente deutet der Verfasser auf die Limiten der Aussagekraft dieser Quellengattung hin (dargestellt am Beispiel der Pflege ums Seelenheil, Begräbnisse und ewiges Gedächtnis), wobei eine Notwendigkeit der Konfrontation der Aussage der Testamenten mit die der anderen Quellen (narrative und literarische Quellen, Wandmalereien, Grabmäler u.ä.) betont.

On the basis of body of late medieval noble last wills the study shows to the limits of testimony of this art of sources (illustrated on the cure of salvation, funerals and postmortal memory) on one side, and necessity to take into account other arts of sources, too (written sources of narrative art, wall paintings, tombstones).
