Psychologie literatury je svým tématem zaměřena do tří základních oblastí, které se navzájem prolínají. Jedná se o psychologii autora, analýzy literárních textů a psychologii čtenáře. Studie se zaměřuje na oblast psychologie autora. Témata jako jsou osobnost autora, původ kreativity, proces tvorby uměleckého díla nebo duševní zdraví autora, byly často předmětem historiometrických analýz či psychobiografických studií. Autor ve svém příspěvku uvádí několik metod a teoretických přístupů, které se v minulosti zabývaly psychologií autora.

The theme psychology of literature is directed three basic spheres connecting and penetrating each other. It regards the psychology of an author, the analysis of literary texts, and the psychology of a reader. The present paper adresses an issue of the psychology of an author. Themes as e.g. the personality of an author, sources of his creativity, process of the creation of a literary work, or the mental health of an author were often objects of many historiometric analyses or psychobiographic studies. The author introduces several methods and theoretical accesses, which investigated the problems of psychology of an author, in the past.
