    To evaluate the increase of 18-FDG myocardial concentrationafter administration of antilipemic agents, inducing the shift of lipid to glucose energetic metabolism. The influenceof some agents on 18-FDG uptake in myocardium of rat was compared with changes in brain and skeletal muscle. Highest 18-FDG uptake in intact myocardium could be achieved 45 minutesfollowing 18-FDG injection and by previous dose of antilipemic agent (acipimox). The administration of glucose with insulin had only small effect. In contrast to myocardium lipid- depressing agents caused the decrease of 18-FDG uptake in skeletal muscle. Negligible changes of 18-FDG uptake in brain of rats are probably not appropriate example for that in human brain of a vigilant man.
