The neutron scattering length (coherent scattering length)b is a basic nuclear constant characterizing the interaction of low energy neutrons with nuclei. An accurate knowledge of b for different isotopes is essential for the application of neutron scattering methods in condensed matter physics /1/ and is crucial for a number of questions in fundamental physics /2/.
