Capillary zone electrophresis was used for the study of electrophoretic behaviour of alkaloids sanguinarine and chelerythrine and for the determination of their pK values. UV-absorption spectra of both forms of these alkaloids, which are necessary for photometric detection, were therefore measured, too.
