Two new instruments are presented, developed by Applied Separations, Hamilton, PA, USA. So called onePSE is a fully automated device for one sample, fastPSE is an automated instrument, where six samples are extracted simultaneously. In both instruments 40 programs can be created and saved in the memory. There is an easy communication between the PC and the extractor. The software of both instruments is outlined and selected applications are presented. The methodology for the total fat content determination is described and verified for several food samples including milk and milk powder. The determination of PAHs for certified soil samples is presented. The influence of sample volume and vessel size on RSDs is discussed.
