The electrochemical generation of volatile compounds for AAS was studied. All measurements were performed in continuous mode of flow analysis. The influence of relevant parameters on the analytical signal was tested. It was found that the electrochemical generation of arsine, stibine and H2Se gives similar analytical results as the conventional mode of chemical hydride generation. The electrochemical generation of H2Te, SnH4 and Hg cold vapour, although possible, is more complicated.
