Micromorphology and biochemistry of the female reproductive system in some nematodes belonging to the family Ascarididae is reviewed from the literature. In addition, new data are given on dynamics of the oogonia and/or oocytes development in the parts of the reproductive system that we have defined with emphasis on oocytes growth and egg shell formation. Quantity of histochemically and biochemically studied substances varies in dependence on the oocyte developmental stage.
