Long-range displacive to short-range order-disorder crossover in weakly concentrated KTa_yNb_1-yO₃.

Recently we reported on an reentrant dipole glass-like phase formation in K_0.9986Li_0.0014Ta_0.976Nb_0.024O₃.Here we present the detailed low-frequency dielectric permittivity and Raman scattering data for nrarly the same composition but without li admixture, namely dor KTa_0.982Nb_0.018O₃(KTN). We found that upon cool down, KTN1.8 exhibits soft-mode-driven long range displacive dynamics with phase transition at Tc=27K.
