Manganese doping of SrTiO_3 results in structured luminsecence consisting of narrow zero-phonon R-line of Mn4+ peaking at 13826,8 cm(-1)(T=15K) and vibrational sidebands. ZPL of Mn4+ exhibits an usually large shift with temperature which follows the reciprocal dielectric constant. The excitation spectrum of Mn4+ consists of two broad bands at 18182 and 23585 cm(-1), which are assignde to 4A_2->4T_2 and 4A_2->4T_1 transitions, respectively.
