The paper i based on a lecture for participants of post-gradual studies at the Pedagogical faculty of Charles university in Prague. The author distinguishes syntactic, semantic and pragmatic dimensions of argumentation. He also emphasizes the social and value environment of actual argumentation and the competence of the receivers.
