Cross-sections of roots of three carnivorous plant species (Dionaea muscipula, Drosera adelae, Sarracenia rubra) were stained with safranine (0.1 % Safranine T in citrate-phosphate buffer, pH 4.0, overnight). The walls of xylem vessels of roots of the all three species remained unstained or were only weakly stained with safranine which corresponded to negative staining with phloroglucinol/HCl for lignin

Příčné řezy kořenů tří druhů masožravých rostlin (Dionaea muscipula, Drosera adelae, Sarracenia rubra) byly barveny safraninem (0,1 % Safranin T v citrátovém pufru, pH 4,0, přes noc). Stěny xylémových cév kořenů všech tří druhů zůstaly nezbarveny nebo byly jen velmi slabě barveny safraninem, což odpovídalo negativnímu barvení floroglucinolu/HCl na lignin
