The main aim of the three years project, in frame of this article is written, was to characterize the status, conditions, constraints for natural regeneration of Norway spruce (Picea abies(L.)Karst.) ecosystems in different stage of forest decline on three permanent research plots in the Krkonoše Mts. The article presents the research results in various fields important for the evaluation of the natural regeneration.

Příspěvek přináší výsledky tříletého mezinárodního projektu, jehož hlavním cílem bylo charakterizovat stav, podmínky a překážky přirozené obnovy smrkových ekosystémů v různých stádiích jejich rozpadu na třech trvalých výzkumných plochách.
