The paper gives attention to identification of extreme hydrological periods and to the simulation of events when the small catchments are in that time impacted by the torrential rainfall of design character with the certain periodicity. The paper focuses on the analyses of extreme summer periods in 1992 and 1997. The reconstruction of the real existing situation with a particular reference to compute the main components of water balance was made and then implemented by WBCM model. The differences between two experimental catchments (Dřevnice, Všeminka) are caused by the different retention capacities of their active soil zones.

Příspěvek je zaměřen na identifikaci extrémních hydrologických období a na simulaci situací, kdy v těchto podmínkách zasáhne povodí návrhová srážka s určitou periodicitou; jde o analýzu extrémních letních období roků 1992 (suché období) a 1997 (povodňové období). Rekonstrukce reálně existující situace byla provedena implementací modelu WBCM. Rozdíly mezi povodími Dřevnice a Všeminky byly způsobeny rozdílnou retenční kapacitou jejich aktivní půdní zóny.
