The chapter summarises the metamorphoses of Prague under the rule of Charles IV after his accession to the Czech and Roman thrones, and under his son Wenceslas IV. It deals with the establishment and new foundations of the New Town, with the reconstruction of a palace at the Prague Castle and the reconstruction of Vyšehrad; with the construction of St Vitus Cathedral, Prague fortification, buildings of the patriciate and burghers. It also casts light on the residences of King Wenceslas and his courtiers in the towns of Prague.

Kapitola sumarizuje proměny Prahy za Karla IV. po nástupu na český a římský trůn a za jeho syna Václava IV. Zabývá se mj. založením a novými fundacemi Nového města, přestavbou paláce na Hradě a rekonstrukcí Vyšehradu, stavbou katedrály sv. Víta, opevněním Prahy, stavbami patriciátu a měšťanů, přibližuje rezidence Václava a jeho dvora v pražských městech.
