The Chapter deals with the process of continuous, though long-term fall of the Ottoman Empire during the 18th century within the context of politically and economically growing Western Europe. The range of military marked the basic break and discrepancy between ambitions and possibilities of Ottomans.Their strive for reforms has, nevertheless, failed.
