Stať se zabývá otázkou pojmů, podílejících se na vytváření novodobé národní identity na počátku bulharského obrození. Analyzuje text spisu "Istorija slavjanobolgarskaja" (1762) z hlediska kontextu a polysémie užitých slov rod, jazyk a dalších, spojených s představou národa. Dokládá "nehotovost" tehdejšího pojmu 'národ' ve srovnání s jeho dnešními obsahy, která se projevovala perifrastickými víceslovnými obraty.

The study treats of the terms actively participating in forming modern national identity in the beginning of Bulgarian National Revival. It analyses the text of the "Slav-Bulgarian History" (1762) focusing on the context and polysemy of the used words „genus“ and „language (lingua)“ and others connected with the notion of the nation. It stresses the evident „incompletness“ of the former term „nation“, which - in comparison with its current content - found expression in periphrastic multi-word expressions.
