Stať pojednává o dějinách konventu sv. Jiří na Pražském hradě, ve kterém je nyní umístěna expozice českého baroka. Věnuje se architektonickému vývoji budov od doby raného středověku po současnost, připomíná význam konventu ve spojení s panovnickou dynastií a umělecká díla, která na půdě konventu vznikla.
